Smoky Mountains On The Fly provides a licensed and professional guide service for trout fly fishing in Western North Carolina. The beautiful freestone streams of The Great Smoky Mountains offers you the opportunity to fly fish in one of the most biologically diverse settings in the world. Wild Rainbow, Brown and native Brook trout inhabit the many cool mountain streams throughout The Great Smoky Mountains. Our guide service offers several options for you to enjoy the fly fishing opportunities that abound in Western North Carolina. Catering to the experienced angler as well as the new comer to this exciting sport. Your guide will instruct you on casting techniques, entomology, knot tying, fly selection, equipment overview as well as reading water and proper catch and release handling practices and playing fish to ensure their survival. From large freestone streams in pursuit of some of the larger resident trout to prowling headwater streams for little wild jewels in classic stair step pools. A guided fly fishing trip with one of Smoky Mountains On The Fly's knowledgeable guides is a great way to learn the art of this rewarding pastime and jump-start your learning curve on the techniques necessary to be successful in the smokies.
Quality equipment can and will be provided for use on all trips if needed, as equipment should be pleasing to use and not a struggle. Good quality equipment will make your day on the stream a more pleasing experience, as it should be. Flies for the day are also provided. Half Day trips include snacks and beverages. Plan on 4 -5 hours for a half day trip, including travel time. great for the angler pressed for time visiting with family and friends and still looking to get some time in the water. Full Day trips include lunch and beverages. Plan on 8 -9 hours for a full day trip, including travel time. I need to know ahead of time of any special dietary restrictions or physical limitations so that changes in the planned day or days can be made accordingly. We require a deposit of $75.00 to reserve a date. Trips are booked on a first come first serve basis. Cancellation Policy: Deposit is refundable if cancellation is made 7 days prior to trip date.
