Tuckaseigee Chapter of Trout Unlimited in the Great Smoky Mountains of Western North Carolina

Conservation News

North Shore Road Issue:
The proposed North Shore Road proposal for the Great Smoky Mountains National Park represents a significant threat to the integrity of the Park.
• The road will cut a thirty mile swath through the heart of the largest road-less area of mountain terrain in the eastern United States.
• Road construction will expose Anakeesta rock, resulting in acids and heavy metals leaching into our streams.
• The Tuckaseigee and Land of Sky chapters of Trout Unlimited are opposed to the construction of the North Shore Road.
